The power of your thoughts

 

“As a single footprint will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep, physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over again the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.”  (Henry David Thoreau)

I have recently come across this quote, and I find it very powerful.

If you have read any books on the law of attraction or any other spiritual books, then you must be aware that our thoughts have creative power. Our thoughts create our life, the Universe is reflecting back to us what we are creating with our thoughts. Our thoughts create our reality.

I believe that our thoughts have even more power than we can comprehend. Some people live their everyday life without even knowing anything about the power of their thoughts. If they have a happy life, they must have happy, positive thoughts, so in the end it is all good for them, whether they are conscious of this power or not.

But there are also those people who constantly create negative stuff in their life because of their repetitive negative thinking that will only attract negative experiences for them. I wish these people realised that they could change their life, not overnight, but they could start with one thought, and then work on another one, and then another one.

We can change ANYTHING in our life, just by our way of thinking.

“Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.”

It may be hard to do so, because we all face many distracting factors. We have to live our life, do our job, look after our family, etc. We might have negative thinking patterns we brought from our childhood, and it takes conscious effort to change them.

You have to put in quite some effort to change your thoughts. But for any change to take place in your life, it has to start with your thoughts.

If you don’t put the effort in it, nothing is going to change. You have to pave the path, as the quote says above. It takes practice, it takes time and patience.

Tips:

A good way to change your thoughts, or concentrate on the positive aspects of any subject, is to start a gratitude journal. Write down all the blessings that happened during the day, and write down everything you are grateful for. You can also focus “being positive” on a single subject by writing down all the positive thoughts about that one thing, it can be a person or anything you want to improve in your life.

Don’t take anything for granted – or the importance of gratitude

 

I come to realise again and again how important it is to express our appreciation and gratitude in life.

A while ago I felt a little bit down, just nothing exciting happened in my life, and I felt like nothing good was happening either. That is when I thought I should grab my notebook and try to change my attitude by expressing my gratitude. This always works!!!

 

 

One should always take the time to express their gratitude, but sometimes we get so caught up in our busy lifestyle that we forget about it.

So I went back to my notebook, and started to write down whatever I was grateful for on that day. They might be the smallest things; the point is to express good feelings and appreciation.

That is enough to change everything around.

It is sufficient to take the first few steps, and I guarantee that you can expect something unexpectedly good happening in your everyday life. This positive power will pull you towards more positivity, and the next thing you see is that your life is back on track!

Focus on the outcome!

Whatever you want to achieve, whatever your dream is, just focus on the outcome!

Focus on the outcome, and do not worry about anything else!

Focus on the good feelings, focus on the success, focus on the happiness!

Do not worry about how it will come true, just enjoy the dream! Remember, the Universe does not know if you are imagining or if you are experiencing something. What you can imagine already exists in the Universe, you just need to allow it to happen, make the space for it and let it manifest in your life.

 

Just focus on the good feelings! Make it real by focusing on your happiness!

Follow your bliss and focus on the outcome!

I thought I would share this quote with you all, because it might help someone out there to get on with their life, to remember to look for the positive or to practice more positivity in their life in general.

Over the years, I have been learning to look for the positive aspects in all situations. What I have learnt is, no matter how hard your current situation is, you can always find positive aspects in it, which will help you move towards a better future.

Many times I find myself more positive in certain situations than other people are around me, and this gives me the chance to remind these people – whether they are colleagues, friends or family – to always look at the bright side of life, learn the lesson from the situation and move on .

Change your perceptions for a happier life!

 

The best way to live our life is being grateful for what we have and constantly trying to live with a positive attitude. I have just covered this topic in a recent blog post, but I want to expand it more with my personal experience.

Everyone has periods in their life when it is hard to stay positive or happy. Life has its ups and downs, it is natural, we cannot change that. However, we can try to spend the hard times in a smart way, by counting our blessings and taking baby steps towards our dreams. Sometimes the hardest times in life become the most valuable, as we acquire new skills, we make new connections, we become stronger; and all these experiences will help us on our way to achieve future goals.

If you have already “survived” a hard period in your life, you know how much stronger it made you, and you know that future challenges are going to be easier to face.

It is all about our perceptions. We get what we think. Our perceptions will define how we feel, whether a certain situation makes us happy or hopeful, or sad and depressed.

We should always be able to find the positive aspects in a situation: like how it is serving us, what we are learning through the process, what kind of connections we are making with other people, etc. You may be in  a hard situation, but you are probably getting something very valuable out of it, just by holding on! Make the best of it you can, and leave the problematic situation when you are ready to move on.

The latest hard experience in my personal life helped me immensely on various levels. I do not find everything so hard anymore, because I can compare it to what I had to go through before, and I am able to find something to appreciate in all situations. With this positive attitude, I can get closer and closer to all my dreams.

 

 

The smart way to go through hard times is appreciating what you already have and taking baby steps to get closer to your goals. Don’t be afraid to take action, the only thing you will regret later is wasting your time. Take whatever step you can take, and the next one will reveal itself on the way.

The key during the process is staying positive and appreciative of what you have already achieved. Take every day as a gift, take every friend and helping person as a gift, take every step along the way as a gift. Express your gratitude, and it will multiply.

Ignore what you don’t like

I am writing this post partly from my own experience as to how one can feel better in everyday life. Feeling better is not only about “feeling better”, but that is actually the key to anything good coming into your life. Once you feel better, you are able to attract more good things.

Law of attraction says like attracts like, therefore if you are feeling bad, you cannot attract anything good. Even when you have a goal that you want to achieve, but you have a bit of worry, a bit of tension or a bit of doubt going on, it is not going to happen or not the way you wanted it to happen.

Sometimes we try hard to feel better, but in fact our conscious trying doesn’t really work. You constantly seem to see the things that you don’t like and keep repeating those thoughts that you don’t like.

One way to feel better is to think about things you like, let yourself enjoy what you like, simply for the good feeling, not for any purpose or goal. Another way is to try to ignore all those things that you don’t like: that annoy you, that you want to get rid of. You can even go on a challenge: try to ignore things you don’t like for 21 days, and every time you notice yourself complaining, remember that you have to feel good!

Once you are able to ignore things you don’t like, the Universe will surprise you with things you DO like! They might be little things, but those are the things you want to say “yes” to. Say “yes” to the things you like, appreciate them, be grateful for them! Thank the Universe, because you experienced something you loved! Ask more of it! Love it and you will get it!
